Asha is an exciting five-piece multi-instrumental ceilidh band with a broad dynamic range second to none, ranging from exhilarating tunes with synthesizer and electric guitar to soft lilting melodies featuring flute, violin and melodeon.

The band’s line-up features Jackie Allen (Token Women) on Violin and assorted wind instruments, Gerald Claridge (Tickled Pink) on Electric and Acoustic guitars, Dave Jolly (Stocai) on Melodeons, Pete Lockwood (Cock & Bull Band) on Keyboards, Saxophones and Percussion and Lynn Swain (Touchstone) on Flute and Whistle.

Asha have appeared at numerous Folk and World music events, around the country, including the prestigious Cambridge, Sidmouth, Chippenham, Bromyard and Towersey festivals.

Their CD releases and live shows have received great reviews. Asha sound like … well can you imagine high-energy Celtic fiddle, flute and melodeon belting out an exciting set of tunes with a synthesizer and electric guitar backing? The band have a huge dynamic range from driving rhythms to soft lilting melodies, especially when guitarist Gerald Claridge straps on his acoustic guitar and keyboard player Pete Lockwood swaps his synth for some mean and moody saxophone.

Jackie and Dave share the calling and have a vast repertoire to offer. A wide range of dances from fast reels and jigs to more sedate waltzes and hop steps. Strip the Willow, Stars, Dip and Dive? It’s all there and much more besides. Asha is equally at home working with other callers.

Whether a Festival, Village Ceilidh, Wedding Reception or Birthday Party you can be sure that Asha will make your event go with a real swing.
